Bathroom Cabinet Vibes

10.05.17

Since weaning Raff last week, I realise now we are well and truly out of the baby stage (cry). I’ve decided it’s time to claim back some time for me. God knows I need it –  I feel like I’ve aged about 15 years since having kids, so my new regime has had me pick up more regular gym classes (LOVING the variety of classes my local gym Luxe offers), drinking a daily WelleCo Super Elixir while upping my water intake, and actually spending longer than 2 minutes on my hair and make up. It’s fun, you should try it!

Some things I’ve been loving lately:

1. A new addition to the bathroom cabinet is the Hairstyla pictured above (which you can buy from places like Myer, David Jones and Harvey Norman). The handy little appliance allows me to BRUSH my hair straight…which is perfect for my strong lack of hairstyling skills, I’ve never been able to master something like the classic hair iron. This little guy makes it so easy. For a woman with curly hair, I really like to use it to smooth out the frizz even when I’m rocking the simple Mum bun when out and about.

2. My sister introduced me to the Napolean Perdis Pre-Foundation primer recently, and I’m never going to look back. This gel-like lotion in the fancy gold tube glides on my skin creating a perfect surface for foundation. Something so simple, and I love it!

3. I haven’t purchased anything Clinique since 1996 when I was a devotee to their 3 step skin regime (remember that obsession in high school or was it just me)? However, I recently bought a Crayola Chubby stick in Melon and I’m a big fan of the lipstick/lipgloss hybrid. The perfect colour if you ask me!

3. Since becoming a Pre-Foundation primer user, I’ve decided to up my game in the powder stakes too, so I purchased a lovely brush from Napoleon Perdis. To be honest though, I feel like my make up application skills could really be improved –  I’m super keen to complete this short course, I hear it’s a fantastic one.

4. After pregnancy, my hair went all types of dry and unruly, so my hairdresser recommend the BC Fibre Force Fortifying Sealer from Schwarzkopf. The leave in milk seals the cuticles and creates a protective shield around the fibre, and also leaves a really nice ‘polished’ feel to my hair. I’m addicted to it!

5. I’ve sung the praises of Dermalogica on here before, I really find it works for my skin. I recently swapped from the Daily Microfoliant which I’ve been using for years, to the Daily Superfoliant – which is for older skin (cry again). I use it every day in the shower as the resurfacing/ smooth feeling it leaves on my face is really lovely.

6. A gift from my little sister on my birthday, this fancy pants shampoo is like none other that I’ve used. Oribe not only have the most beautiful packaging I’ve ever seen, it is so luxurious on your hair – washing it is no longer a chore. I only need a small amount too, so the bottle is really lasting the distance.

I use Mac Face and Body in C4. I have used this for years but thinking I need to swap for a heavier coverage now I’m getting a bit older.
