Jimmy Halfpenny

Long before the iPad was invented, I remember as a kid sitting at restaurants with a pencil case and drawing pad, sketching anything and everything. Drawing and painting was my favourite activity and it’s something Sunday has definitely inherited too. I’m lucky that she is pretty content at home if there is an art activity involved. Sunday can bring home up to 3 artworks after an average day at Preschool…so you can imagine the pile of creations that have accumulated over the past few years (heaven forbid if she catches me trying to throw one out)!

Trying to live a far less cluttered life at home these days, I jumped at the chance to order a Jimmy Halfpenny custom made book, especially for Sunday. A kid’s art collection made in to a beautiful hard cover book – the concept is rather genius, if you ask me.

The process is all very easy. You get started with a $39.99 deposit. Simply place your order online and then wait for the speedy arrival of your Jimmy Halfpenny Starter Kit. I then packaged up all of Sunday’s creations, and returned the pre-paid parcel to the design team. Balance is then paid, and you’re kept updated with informative emails to let you know the status of your book order. Not long after, like magic – the gorgeous and personalised book arrives.

JimmyHalfPenny1The hard cover book is shiny and impressive with all the artwork digitised and printed on premium quality silk paper.

JimmyHalfPenny3Sunday was thrilled with the surprise, and I’m just so pleased we now have an heirloom book for my little artist to cherish forever.

JimmyHalfPenny2JimmyHalfPenny6It was also a good excuse to sort through a mountain of artwork, and now we have a far more condensed collection of our favourite artworks to admire by simply opening the precious book.

I love this, I’ve seen a few different versions and I think it would be such a wonderful thing to have for the future. I’m hoping Elroy enjoys art, I remember spending hours drawing as a child.

May I ask you a random question? Is your carpet the tretford carpet? If so have you been happy with it? I am about to start looking and I want something light grey and easy wearing. Thanks Briar x

Sorry for my late reply Catherine! Yes – It’s Tretford and we are REALLY happy with it. Doesn’t get fluffy and is still soft underfoot. As been really durable with a few stains Sunday has caused too. Love it!
Another range to look at is Cavalier Bremworth ‘overtones’ – a nice carpet for kids.
