MELBOURNE – WHERE I SHOPPED

13.06.15

To balance out the gluttonous eating that went on (see previous post), I like to think I earned it with a lot of pavement pounding. Here is a wrap up of what I saw that is unique to Melbourne – because let’s face it – Sydney is totally catching up in the interiors department (which is a great thing to see):

IMG_2115I’ve long been a fan of Mr Fenton Rugs, so it was great to visit the Fenton + Fenton showroom and take in all the amazing textural layers and colours.

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 presetIMG_2120Not far from Fenton and Fenton was the new concept store for Family Love Tree in Prahran. A gorgeous shop featuring retro-inspired rattan furniture and homewares, with a strong focus on indoor plants – definitely my kind of shoppe!

IMG_2108It was great to check out the Milk + Sugar store, and I found their lamps especially lovely.

IMG_2134 copyI jumped in a cab over to Hawthorn to check out The Woodsfolk. I’ve been a fan of this gorgeous store since it’s conception (you can buy most things online), but it was so nice to see everything in person. If Sunday was ever to own a shop, I feel like she would want to stock everything you find in here. So much cute!

IMG_2138 copyIt seems Collingwood is where it’s at interior-wise at the moment, and it was lovely to visit the amazing work of Douglas + Bec. Swoon – I’d love to deck out our whole place in this stuff, everything is such beautiful quality.

IMG_2141 copyJust around the corner is Loose Leaf, an industrial retail space with gorgeous blooms and indoor plants. It’s also the floral studio of the owner, Wona Bae – who I was very happy to meet – she’s just so lovely (and clever). Read more about the beautiful space here.

Not pictured above, but places I visited that are also worth a mention are: Lightly, Modern Times (both in Collingwood), Scout in St Kilda, and Pop + Scott in Northcote. Phew! It was a busy couple of days (if you include all the great restaurants). Until next time, Melbourne.
